  1. drug- substance other than food, such as tobacco,marijuana, or prescription drugs, that alters the way the body or mind functions. 
  2. drug misuse- incorrect use of a prescription or OTC drug.
  3. drug abuse- intentional use of a legal or illegal drug without medical or health reasons.
  4. dose-  amount of drug taken at one time
  5. prescription drug- written order by a licensed health professional for a drug dispensed by a pharmacist that can be used to treat or prevent illness
  6. brand-name drug- drug with a registered name or trademark
  7. generic-name drug- drug with the same active ingredients as a brand-name drug , but usually is less costly.
  8. OTC drug- drug purchased with out a prescription that can be used to relieve the symptoms of, but not cure, an illness. 
  9. side effect- unwanted body change, such as dry mouth or sleppiness, that is unintended effect froma drug
  10. tamper resistant package- package that is sealed, assuring the buyer that it has not been open
